Haven't heard of any issues since I've been hangin' around here. My '07 has 112,000 miles on it without issue.
Generally, a wheel bearing problem can manifest itself through a wobbling-noise, a vibration in the steering wheel or, when it's really bad, a squealing sound (as it shaves metal away).
In my previous car I thought I had a wheel bearing issue. It was actually a cupped tire that made a sound similar to a bearing going bad (which I've also had in a previous previous car). Unless you have well over 100k I'd find it highly suspect that you would have a bad bearing.

That could also be the constant velocity joint (CV-joint). That will make a crunching/knocking sound but only when doing a hard turn.
I'm getting suspicious it is the tire (even though they only have 1200 miles on them) I can feel a constant super mild vibration in the steering wheel. My wife has a 2005 Subaru that had the back bearings go out in 5000 miles (supplier defective batch of parts), so anytime I feel a drag on any car I get overly sensitive.

Swap the tire with the full size spare on the side you hear the noise. If the noise goes away, you have your answer.

You could also just swap front to back and see if the noise moves to the rear. You never really said if it was one side or front rear, etc.
I had this problem, but in another car. It wasn't the CV joints or the front wheel bearings (they last well over 100,000 and can be checked for play with calipers removed. I removed the two front tires and I noticed something between the treads. Went into Discount Tire...tires were separating and they were replaced since they were under warranty.

M neighbors 06 Avalon needed a left rear wheel bearing replaced around 18,000 miles. It was squeeling. Dealer disagreed until it was removed and seizing was evident. Dealer replaced under warranty.
