Nav - 2011 Ltd questions

1. I'm used to a TomTom where all you do to shut it off is hit the power button (I'm in familiar territory and don't need the distraction so shut off). Can't find any instructions to do that in the Nav instruction book. Dealer no help.

2. I'm used to map updates every quarter. Does Toyota or their suppliers ever issue map updates? Cost?

1. To shut off the Nav screen, click "Display", and then on the screen, click "Screen off". You can still play music, etc., but the nav display won't be on anymore.

2. Toyota pops out with a map update about once a year, although most Toyota owners only update it once every 2-3 years because it runs about $150-$200 for the new disc. I have heard of some people downloading it off the net for free, however.
