Maintenance light?

I have an 06 avy and recently bought. and the maintenance light blinks a few time when i start the car but shuts off before i drive it. is that just telling me a need and oil change in awhile? or does it need to stay on when you need one?

Sounds normal to me.

Maint light on mine comes on at startup - stays on a bit - then goes off.

It will come on every 5000 miles - starting from 0.

You reset with simple instructions in owners manual.

That is a reminder that your service interval is approaching. It will not come on in that manner under normal circumstances. It will stay lit all the time once you've exceeded 5k miles from last reset. Basically its a reminder that an oil change is due.

it happened on our as well a few weeks ago. You can reset it yourself, pretty easy. Don't remember off my head but do a google search, very easy.
