Exclamation Blacked out logos

Hello everyone. I just registered and this is my first post( <----- Obvious)

Anyways, I just blacked out all the rear bading but the Toyota logo got a fingerprint pressed into it? Not sure how to word it but there is a fingerprint mark in it.

How can I reapply spray paint without getting it on the actual paint?

Also how can i remove the front logo and has anyone put a K&N filter in their avalon?

Unless you want to pull the badge off the car, you're going to need painters blue masking tape and an exacto knife to mask it off. Good luck. Blades + Paint usually dont mix.

Go to Lexus forum, I read something like this about a month ago. There is a product that will do the black out. You can apply to the car without removing the badges. It's pretty slick. I just forgot about which model, probably under ES or GS.

One cool thing about it is you don't have to worry about the paint, the stuff stick on the plastic badge and is a "peel off" from the paint.

Thanks Grandpapa but I guess the paint didn't settle in. It looks great now.

About 2 years ago, I installed a K&N filter (drop-in) and the same week, I dropped the stock exhaust mufflers and had Magnaflows installed. I had a well-known, reputable shop do it. He used the same factory hangers and tips. I painted the mufflers with high-temp flat black paint.

The owner of this muffler shop also had an Avalon and did this to his car. He had it tested and noticed a bump of 10 HP. He left the large resonator upstream from the mufflers to help with a noise (otherwise, he said I would get this cheesy muffler sounds out of the V-6 "fart-in-a-can" sound) I run super unleaded fuel on the hwy and averaging 31 mpg driving at around 75 mph. I understand that super-unleaded is recommended in order to achieve maximum HP out of the 3.5

I noticed the throttle response and passing power. I easily reach speeds exceeding 110 mph out on the open hwy, when I feel like putting the pedal to the metal. It is my opinion that these two changes (air filter/exhaust mufflers) helped in improving mileage and throttle response. On the negative side, the front tires spin if I punch it. So, overall I just need to watch my foot and keep decent in city mileage (averaging about 20) with A/C.

Not that I'm speaking from experience or anything, but a stock avalon with oem intake and mufflers easily hits triple digit speeds.

I drove it stock without any modifications and it was responsive, however, I noticed the engine responded/throttle response while passing on the interstate and state highways (two lanes). I did this on Interstate 5 north of the Grapevine, CA. I've read on other forums (Tundra, Camry) that some driver's removed that charcoal filter on the air filter cover claiming their fuel mileage/response increased... who knows?

doesn't have anything to do with "black out logo"

as for the charcoal filter, I read the same thing in HL and Tacoma forums as well. Those who removed it said "great response" "should've done it long time ago..." I just wouldn't do it since I am not looking for any gain from the stock avalon.
