TPMS Rebuilt Kit necessary?

Tomorrow the 07 is getting Michelin Primacy tires from Discount Tire. I called to ask about the price, availability etc and the guy highly recommend that a TPMS rebuilt kit be installed. He said that they can ruin the tire if the seals go bad. I googled this topic and found that its really not needed, and its just another way for tire shops to make money. What should I do?

You already googled this and believe its a way for the shops to make additional profit. I think you should go for it

I have my tire replaced from discount tires and they never asked me to redo the TPMS

Haha, I was wondering about Toyotas. The TPMS can be different on various Makes, some are rebuild-able some aren't.

So I'm good to go then.
