2010 (no NAV) Bluetooth quality issues?

I've been having issues with the quality of my bluetooth ever since buying the car new. I've had it into the dealership numerous times and they claim that there is no problem.

The issue I am having is that the party I am talking to only catches about every other word I say. I've tried numerous phones with different cell providers and the problems persist. I've suggested that the mic placement may be off, but since the dealership claims to not have any issues when testing it out, there's nothing more they are willing to do.

I've tried portable bluetooth speakers and they work much better than the factory installed one. Problem is, I like being able to integrate bluetooth with the factory radio and most after-market ones don't do that.

I feel a bit ripped off with the qulity put forth by Toyota here. The laws in my province prohibit the use of handheld devices so I must use bluetooth if I'm going to use the phone at all while driving.

Suggestions?

Have you asked to see if they can adjust the microphone sensitivity? That might help your issue a bit.

My husband claims he can't hear me well over the bluetooth mic in my 2011 Camry, but I've found that when that happens I usually have the climate control on pretty high. Also, I've found you can't shout too loud or talk too quietly if you want the other party to hear you, it's easiest if you talk as if someone is sitting next to you.

I've also mentioned the mic sensitivity to them and they said it's just fine. I've used plenty of blurtooth devices in the past (both in this and other vehicles) and have not experienced the same issues I'm having now. I really think it's the poor placement of the mics, but cannot convince the dealership that moving a mic would solve the issue.
