2006 Avalon transmission fix

I just purchased a like new 2006 Limited with 45k miles. After driving it a week, I have noticed the transimission shifts roughly. Researching this forum, there is a TSB for a transmission reflash that many people did on 2005/2006 models. Many say it helped a lot, some said it decreased gas mileage noticeably. Anybody have any current advice or experiences with this?

Thanks

I had the TSB applied - did not notice any change in gas mileage.

For awhile I experienced an improved shift quality - after awhile it seemed to drift back to the way it was.

The accelerator pedal in mine has to be ever so gently depressed on take off or I find myself feeling like I'm being fired from a canon.

My wife is the principal driver and thinks it's wonderful. Thank God for that.

Its only lousy for a few hundred miles. The computer has to relearn the optimal fuel mixture. Same as if you kill the battery and put it a new one. The computer is basically reset to 0 and it has to learn it all again.
