Cool 09 Avalon XLS

I just traded in my Avalon, still under warranty, because I missed my SUV. The car was GREAT for speed, luxury, and gas mileage. Received more than Blue Book on a new Highlander Limited. I formerly owned a Sequoia but they were way too expensive this time around. Whoever might end up with my Avalon will love it. My AVALON averaged 26 MPH, city and 30 HWY, GREAT MILEAGE.

I guess you switched from Sequoia to Avalon and then to something else? What SUV did you get after the Avalon?

"Sequoia is too expensive at this time around" Your mean gas? What year? Because we are thinking about getting a Sequoia in the future

I would say from the OP's post as well as his user title that he/she bought a 2011 Highlander Limited.

For me that would be an even trade on mileage. My 2002 Avalon XL gets an average of 22 MPG on each tank, and so does my Highlander.

In a Sequoia, your average mpg will run around 15-17, if you're lucky. Many owners report an average of 13 mpg. A new Sequoia starts upwards of what a Highlander Limited costs....so if you wanted something a bit cheaper you'd have to go with a pre-08 model (which still command $20-$22k even with nearly 100k miles ).

I traded my Avalon for a Highlander LTD. The mileage on my Sequoia was 14 MPGs, but the cost of a new one 45-60 k was out of my range. I have had my Highlander for about 5 days and so far, LOVE IT. I makes the 5th Toyota over the last 10 years I have owned, needless to say, I am a fan!!!

If you can afford one, good for you! 2003 averaged 14 MPG and stickers in the SE region for 2011 run 45-65 K. Needless to say, when I bought my '03 model it was about 38k, big difference, at least to me. It was a GREAT vehicle but, I like to get a new one about every three years. I did keep the Sequoia for 5 yrs.
