Canada 08 Avalon XLS Factory Alarm problem

Hi folks...

Changed car battery and all of the sudden alarm goes off... Panic button is useless. Can't shut it down even with engine running. Called dealer... set appointemnt. Car has to be towed: can't drive with alarm on. Very annoying. The only way to shut alarm off is to disconnet battery from terminals.

Anyone experienced the same in the past???????

Thanks,

R.

Well.. apparently I'm the only one who experienced this problem.

I tried to re-set alarm... didn't work out. I'll get vehicle towed to dealership tomorrow for investigation. I'll keep posting progress reports...

Thanks! Progress reports for situations like this are very much appreciated.

Ok.. so...

I towed Avalon to dealer... They found absolutely nothing. However! Because my original battery was drained twice and I don't drive a lot... alarm reset required to make sure circuitry properly responsive to key functions. I paid 66$ and that was it. No reoccurrence thereafter.

Earlier, I had an issue with 08 Highlander alarm going off for no reason once a week. Hood switch was replaced under warranty (thanks for US post found in the net with the same problem - same vehicle - same year). No reoccurrence thereafter.
