OEM pads lasted 50k on my car. I'm a little curious how you've killed two sets of pads and a set of rotors in only 38k? I'm on the OEM rotors still and they have plenty of life left. I have 84k on the car now.

I'm wondering the same. Replaced the OEM brakes at 98k miles. Still running the OEM rotors now at 118k miles on my '07.

Are the calipers dragging?

38k miles with brake job done twice, too fast, too soon.
Normally it should be ~40k for the 1st job IMO. How's the rear looks like? Did you also have that replaced or mainly the front?

Two scenarios could explain the apparent short pad life:

-1- The vehicle is used for taxi service or as a patrol car.
-2- The first brake service was actually a "sunshine treatment". Once the technician pulled a wheel and discovered the pads were hardly worn, he elected just to leave the car out in the sun for the day and charge you for a brake job. If you had asked to see the old pads, they have plenty of well-worn sets laying around.
