Question Towed Corolla on dolly, battery dead+

I towed a 2005 Corolla behind an RV on a dolly. When I unloaded after 1000 miles battery was stone dead. Replaced with new battery and same thing happened after another 1300 miles. I checked and double checked to be sure nothing was on and key was in correct position only to unlock steering wheel. Anyone know why this might happer?

Could just be coincidence that the power drain occurred while being towed, and would have happened while simply parked. You give miles, but not days.

I've not done any towing, so maybe this is a stupid Q: Why, if the front wheels (I assume front) are on a dolly, do you need to leave the keys in to have them unlocked?

The key position could turn on accessory power and you could have something plugged in.

In any case, the solution is to trace which circuit (fuse) is the source of the drain using an ammeter and pulling fuses one by one. Or disconnect the battery when you're going to do it again.

I would just disconnect the battery; you may get better help if you post in the corolla threads.
