Well, I got the coil replaced #1 cylinder and all the spark plugs. Even with the cowling stuff removed the rear plugs were a royal pita to access do to wire bundle in the way. I had a real hard time getting the passenger side plenum bracket bolt out, and even harder time getting it back in. Due to large hands and little patience, I used my cutoff air saw to make the bracket mount a slotted "U" shapped bolt hole. This made it possible to start the bolt, then put the plenum in place and tighten the bolt. I used MaxBlaster on the windshield wiper arms, and they popped right off. Also one of my hood support struts is bad so I have to use a stick to hold the hood open. I went ahead and removed the struts from the upper mount. This allowed easier access to the back of the engine compartment. Total cost for 1 coil, 6 ngk ir laser plugs, 3 gaskets, and a gearwrench set was less than $250. Quote from my mechanic withouth the plugs $400+ . I can't give a fair time estimate due to a lower back injury that would only let me work a few minutes at a time.
btw: '05 avalon 135k+ miles. Plugs were in perfect shape, still gapped same as new.
