2011 owners of ivory interior cars - are your mats black?
Sorry for a stupid question, but little ticked at my dealer right now. I am extremely dissatisified with my dealer for a whole host of reasons, but won't air that here.
Anyone out there with a 2011 Avalon with ivory interior; are your floor mats black?
My dealer claims Toyota Canada has advised all 2011 Avalons come with black mats. I find that hard to believe. (not sure about in the US, but in Canada, there are only 2 interior colours, black and ivory, and it is tied to exterior colour, so you don't get to pick)
Everyone other car I've had with OEM mats matched the carpet in the car. This is my first Toyota, though.
If it is true all cars ship with black mats, that is incredibly cheap for a $40K car. Especially when they've already cheapened on manufacturing costs by only offering two interior colours that you can't even pick.
In particular, if there is another Canuck out there with an ivory interior, I'd like to hear from you. (If your guys didn't know, Toyota sells VERY FEW Avalons in Canada, as in less than 300 annually if I recall correctly, so not hopeful there is another 2011 owner in this forum from Canada, but who knows?)
Actually, the cars come from Kentucky, it would be nothing to Toyota to thrown in the proper colour mats if this is offered in the US, so would be good to hear from those south of the border too.
That is news to me. I dont have an 11, but I have an 07, I have silver exterior with grey leather, my floor mats match. My sister has a tan camry with tan interior, her mats are tan... sounds like a lazy dealer to me.

I have the pale gray interior, and my 2011 came with black Avalon floor and trunk mats. I was told by my dealer that that was standard issue for the model year.
My 2005 had pale gray mats to match the upholstery, as did my 1st generation Avalon with tan interior and mats.

This looks like the same post I made about 10 months ago. I had the exact same issue. I finally bought some Toyota mats for older Gen 3 Avalon on Ebay that fit perfectly and matched the ivory carpeting. The older mats also did not have that cheep quality/weave of the black mats. Check out my post.
And the carpet type mats were not part of recall. The weather mats were.

Reason: Regarding recall info
Don't know why, but the '11+ only have black mats.
My Grandparents have a late build '10 with Ivory interior and the mats match. You can still buy the other color mats from the '05-10 and they're the same thing as the black ones.

Dan,
Have had my 2011 Avalon Ltd for 3 mths. Came with black mats. I replaced them with WeatherTech mats. I agree OEM mats are not top-notch quality.

The Following User Says Thank You to Moyashi For This Useful Post:
I just bought a 2011 Limited yesterday. It has the light gray interior with black floor mats. I thought I wanted color matched at first then thought how the black mats would hide dirt better. Sine the dash is black, the mats don't really look out of place and I like the idea now.
I agree with Moyashi, Upgrading to WeatherTech will be much much better than the OEM mats. We have bought WeatherTech mats for every vehicle and they last a long time.
We had a 02 camry which we sold and the mats looked the same whne we put them in. Great product.
Got the black mats with a silver car grey interior. Dealer offered matching set. Didn't care for it. As already mentioned, once you wear them out, you can buy a 'matching' color set if you want.
Things also missing:
Fancy LIMITED badge that the 2010's have.
Door body side moldings(again can be taken from the 2010 models).
Valet switch(another thread further down... maybe retrofit from 2010 also).
Cost cutting at work.
