I just had my 06 Avalon with 86k miles on it ripped apart to replace a bum rear coil.
While I was in there playing doctor, i decided it was a good time to do a general check up. The PCV valve was very gummed up and barely moved at all. I cleaned it out with some brake cleaner and then a bit of Deep Creep. Not only is it nice and shiny, but once again rattles like an angry snake.
I definitely had oil in my upper plenum, and ashy deposits on the plugs that corresponded with the cylinders whose runners were more heavily oiled.
