I have a 2006 Avalon with 50k miles and at times it idles somewhat rough at traffic lights. At other times it is not too noticeable. What might be causing it and what should I do about it?

Rough idle can be caused by an endless list of things - too may to mention.

Unless you're tech savvy and have a variety of tools/diagnostic equipment - best to find a good shop(good luck with that) and have them check it out.

Since they will most likely have no history on the car - the shotgun approach will be employed.

New plugs - plug wires - air filters - fuel injector cleaning - IAC cleaning - MAF sensor cleaning - etc/etc/etc/etc.
