2011 Avy LTD HID beam

Hi guys,

Can any of you owners of 2011 Limited with HIDs post a pictures how does your beam look like on the wall? I had to change a bulb and I have done the alignment according to the service manual (3m away from the wall, etc...) BUT it came out different than before I think - that's right, I am not sure and thus want to confirm. I do see other Limited on the roads but never had a chance to park next to them to check the beam pattern. Is it supposed to be:
___/--------___/------- or like a stairs?

Thanks much!
Greg

This might not be of much help to you but the Limited models come with self-leveling headlights. Not sure what you were adjusting.

Thanks Tom, I know but the self-leveling levels the headlights to the predetermined height - which I changed and now I don't remember how they have been before Or maybe they are ok, and I simply don't know it therefore I need some confirmation

By the way, I used to own '05 Limited... Loved that car... I think more than the 2011

I have an '11 LTD with HID lights. When I turn them on they self-adjust & that's the only thing I ever noticed. I don't understand what you're trying to figure out; why not just stop at a dealer & see what they say about your question. That way you'll get it straight from the horse's mouth.

The beam for both headlights should go straight across from left to right. So like your picture; should not be stepped from left to right.

Thanks AML! It's a great help! I just need to tweak it a little bit and I should be all set

I appreciate the reply!

I have been to the dealer's... They told me as they usually do 'it's within the specs'. Call me crazy but I become used to to things and I want them to be like before the bulb change. I replaced both of them. The dealership wanted $225 plus labor for the replacement and so I bought a set of new Philips XenEco D4S from Amazon... and replaced them myself... Zero labor cost

But thanks for the reply!
Greg

Was the original bulb burned out?
