2006 Avalon Wiper Fluid Leaking

Wanted to share this in case someone else has this problem. The hose fell off the nipple. The hose/nipple is at the very bottom of the tank so when it happens all the fluid runs out. It happened once while it was still under the CarMax warranty I purchased. The tech guy said they simply "put it back on." It fell off again last week. We have been unseasonably warm. Then we had a cold snap. Then it got warm again. I'm guessing that contributed to it.

Step 1 is to remove the splash guard panel on the drivers side. Once off you have a clear view of the bottom of the fluid tank. Below is a pic showing the nipple near the top of the picture missing the hose.

Step 2 is the re-attach the hose. Below is a pic of how it looks under normal conditions.

I put a little home remedy spin on this one. One reason I signed up for this forum is because I got the idea for a poster. I added a zip tie around the hose. Hopefully this will stop it from slipping off again. (Zip tie shown with the tail snipped off.)

I had the same issue.....bought a .50 clamp from advance auto that fit the hose and that did the trick.

That's a known issue. Toyota issued a TSB on the problem. Had mine fixed under warranty.
