Blinking Power Window Switch

2007 Avalon Limited - Have a very intermittent problem w/drivers side window not going up. Remainder of windows function fine when this happens. It has happened twice over a 4 month period. This last time the car sat in the garage for 3 days, went to use the car and window goes up/down fine now. Go figure.

Window up/down fine now, but I notice the light on the drivers window switch is blinking (passenger side switch light on solid). Two blinks a pause then two blinks, etc. I've tried putting the window down, holding the switch down for a few seconds, then raising the window and holding switch up for a few seconds, but drivers side switch still blinks.

I never noticed the switch lights before so don't know if drivers side is supposed to blink or not. Does the blinking indicate some malfunction or ???

I'm thinking I'll have to replace the switch and the motor as I can't rely on the window working in the future. That's big $$, hoping I don't have to.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Has battery been out/disconnected just before problem 1st occurred?
There is a power window reset sequence, it's in you owners manual.
That may be the problem's solution.

Otherwise, these cars are old enough that you can find parts from wrecks easily.
On ebay, Window Regulators are around $35-$40, electric motors around $50, switches should be repairable by cleaning up contacts.
So, worst case, shouldn't be that expensive a fix.
