'05 Smart Key, Is it smart to have?

I have not yet bought my '05 Limited. I may switch to the XLS because I am uncomfortable with the Smart Key idea. I have become used to having a handy extra key, for odd situations (like lost keys!).
I know that 2 are supplied. Maybe I just need to buy a 3rd to keep at home for peace of mind.
Any ideas are appreciated.

Top,

I have the smart key. There is one major problkem with it---it is smarter than I am.
My wife always has problems finding her keys in her purse. This SK is an answer for her, if she will ever get use to the fact that she doesn't HAVE to have the key in her hand.
I am use to having a spare flat head key in my wallet, just in case as you describe, but now there is no such thing.
We are getting use to the SK, and it is handy the way it operates, but old habits are hard to break, or another way--it's hard to teach old dogs new tricks.
Enjoy how ever you decide.

If there are two drivers that share use of the car then having each smart key programmed to the memory system is a help that way whichever driver pushes the door open on their smart key the seats, mirrors, etc will move to the respective memory presets (driver 1 or 2).
