New Owners Check Your Tire Pressure

Boy do I feel about this. I checked my tire pressure and all tires had 54-56 lbs of pressure in them. My odometer has just turned 4,000 miles so I wonder how much tred life this may have cost me.

Come on dealers do your prep work right !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I checked my tire pressures last week. They were all on spec at 30-32 psi. I have about 3K on my odo. Did you measure you pressure with the tires hot or cold?

I'm surprised your tires did't blow on any major bumps or traveling on the freeway.

Maybe you guys know this one, does the 05 have tire pressure sensors? My wifes 04 4-Runner had this feature and it always triggered a light anytime over 5000 ft elev.

No pressure sensor on the 05 Avalon. I heard that all new cars are being mandated to have them for model year 08.

Thank god you had Michelins on those wheels. Imagine if you had Firestones, your tires probably would have blown just as you left the dealer. I think Toyota made a very wise decision with installing Michelins on most of their new cars.

You are probably in the same boat as I am with the temp outside at 100+ and the road temps at 140+. This is a real harsh environment for a tire and if the tire is going to blow, now is the time.
