I had some time to kill so I unbolted the mufflers to see how loud it was....well it was pretty quiet at idle, reving was not to bad......so I made up some muffler delete pipes. It drones a bit at 1,500 and 3,200 but not bad. It's all in how much you can stand!!!! Here's the pics.

The avalon also has a resinator too I believe from what I remember when I looked under the car. Is this correct? I believe you can legal remove the resinator from the car and just run a cat and muffler.
Thank you, the shop is in a residential neighborhood, I wish that lift was in my home garage!!!!! The shop belongs to a friend, I use a bay for my projects. The Avalon does have a huge resonator but just isn't enough to keep it reasonable without mufflers. I may put small mufflers back in the future. The power is there from 3,000 to redline, a noticable difference. I haven't noticed a diff. in mileage yet.
Just curious, is this a true dual exhaust car from the headers back? I've read on a few Mustang websites the resinators are what prevents the popping sound when you rev the engine.

No, it's a single system that y's behind the axle, but the resonator does keep it from popping under decel.
Anyone want to buy the muffler delete pipes, I sold the Avalon.
You did what??? I was just about to say how the rear badge delete has really grown on me since you did that trick. So tell us what caused you to dump the car and what did you buy to replace it? Does that mean you have to leave the board now?
I didn't buy anything, just had to loose some debt. I'm in the process of buying a house and something had to go. Don't worry, I won't leave the board, I still work for Toyota.

Houses are good things to have, for sure. Glad to hear your not leaving the board.
Thanks 05limited, I'm upgrading from my little house in town to a 10 acre horse farm. Lots of work to do once we make settlement. The wife will be happy now, she can bring her horse home.
