Unhappy Gas is beginning to hurt

My wife called me on her cellphone that it just cost her $51.29 to fill the Avalon. It was $3.39 per gallon for regular. At two tanks per week this is really gonna but a damper on future fun stuff. I think it is time to buy a locking gas cap, anyone find one for the 05 Avalon yet?

05 Limited- Doesn't the locking fuel door take care of this? I'm unaware on how to open this except prying it loose.

I'm guessing that a large screw driver type device would easily pop the door open, at the cost of a new door, latch and repaint. I have been arguing with myself since I made the earlier post that if someone rips the door open then maybe it would cause less damage to let them have the gas rather than have them cause more damage trying to get off the gas cap. So I think it is wiser to not put on the locking cap. I figure we could be targets because the car looks rather large which might indicate a bigger fuel tank to some people.

Maybe, but if i was in the market of stealing gas I'd be looking for a full-sized american pickup.

No locking door hatches and guaranteed to have a large gas tank.

Even if I couldnt find one i'd find something i wouldn't have to pry open, i wouldn't want to draw attention to myself while i'm stealing gas.

My Infiniti has that feature. It won't open if the doors are locked. Even with a screw driver, it won't budge. I learned that the hard way when I almost pulled my nails out when I couldn't get it opened. Found out I had to unlock all the doors to open it.

youre weak thats why.

use a screwdriver and it wouldve opened with no effort.. but youd have to repair it after... bu the poinht is, it still opens.
