What kind of car?

I did it for my SR5 which came with 6" openings in the rear decklit, I used an electrical saw and almost cut my trunk bars by accident. We did it at the shop for a customer and I used a dremel to do it and it worked like a charm. Watch out for the trunk bars.

What you do is you take the grill that comes with the 6x9" speaker and place it on the rear cover (that's after you remove the rear cover) mark the cover after selecting the best position you want the speaker to be.

Before you mark the dash check the rear dash bottom from the trunk to make sure nothing will be in the way of the speakers.

Cut the cover and place it back on the rear dash, mark the metal where you are going to cut.

Don't cut too big because you might not have any metal for the speaker mounting screws.

If you're not sure, cut it smaller than it should be and than use a file to shave it until the speaker sits in there right.

If you ave any questions just ask. I'm not sure if I left anything out!!

Good luck
