Drivetrain loss in a Camry is substantially less than the GT4 Celica. A Camry is fwd, while the gt4 is awd, right? Again, do the math. A lighter car, less drivetrain loss ...
As someone else said, if the car was well-maintained, then it is a killer car! I know, I own one (a 1992). When I bought it at 101k miles, it was leaking oil in the typical places, but hell, I bought a piece of rally history! So, I've been going through it, cleaning things up, and making upgrades. But don't buy any car, especially a turbocharged car, from someone who didn't maintain it well.
