It's not that hard to swap in the 2.2L Engine mounts won't match up so you'll need to fabricate new mounts and then you have to figure out the wiring which is the other half of the work. The 2.2L engine and transmission need to be swapped in.
The 2.2L is an economical engine and is a disappointment as far as hp gains go. My 2.2L convertable has had major problems with the engine and I personally don't have much faith in the 2.2L.
My 1992 st 1.6L white celica has 236,000miles and have had no engine issues at all.
My 1993 st had the $600.00 5afe engine swap done to it and it runs like a champ.
What are you trying to gain?
