My buddy and I pulled a 5S-FE out of his 94 Camry 2 weeks ago.

Its easier to pull the engine with the tranny.

You could unbolt the tranny from the engine and support it with a tranny jack or whatever, but goodluck getting the engine and tranny to line backup when you bolt it back together.

Yea, easier to pull it with the tranny.

My favorite method of lining them back up is to have my friend hold the transmission in his lap while we tilt the motor down into him
