Exact same set up I have. Next time I might use a Toyota OEM filter instead since my local dealer sells them at 3.75/ea.

Although I bought my Penzoil Plat. at Advanced Auto, I believe Wal-mart sells gallon jugs for ~18 bucks. Pretty cheap for a name brand synthentic oil if you ask me.

As for the 50-50 making your own blend, the local garage my parents have been taking their vehicles to does this with Castrol dino and synthetic.

Oil is always a weird subject; everyone has their oil that they swear by and a brand they hate that supposedly destroys engines, pillages third world countries and kicks puppies
