We tried putting one of those things in my friends 94 accord last weekend. We wound up calling it quits because we couldn't get the front bumper off to remove the elbo of the stock system to slip in the new pipes. It's just a front mount intake by the way, not an intercooler intake. I wouldn't get one of those if you live any place where it snows or rains alot. Just not worth the time in my opinion.

I'd ditch that intake and get a regular cone. That thing is vulnerable to every small debris on the road, stones and everything will perforate the intake. Plus it wont give you added horsepower, plus people will laugh at you, because, even tho its made to look like an "intercooler" it still isnt an intercooler.

Not to mention water, if you want a FMIC get a turbo, and don't buy stuff to make it look like one.

the idea has potential for increased hp, but would fail due to its design.

If you sucked in 4 square feet of air doing 100 mph, that would give you 35200 cfm or 586 cf per second. A definate increase in air requirements the car needs, essentially pressurising the intake charge slightly because the engine won't take that in. (no greater than a few psi, all the other air would be forced around the car) This would allow your naturally aspirated motor to run at a much higher efficiency than it would with a small intake filter hidden behind sheetmetal.
The drawback to this is the smaller size and the fact that the filter is right up front, blocking most of this air, deflecting it. So it becomes less efficient.

And it is dorky looking, you fmic faker.

i actually have one of these installed on my '93 ae102 and it was not that hard to install it, i just had to replace the coolant reservoir and replace the tubing. (see pic)
you have to make custom bracket for the air filter box.

i runned it ALL the winter and damn, there was really no change at all, and those winter in here are the coldest. -35 C / - 40 C
the front plate look rusty cause there's lot of salt in here during winter andi hadnt chance to change or paint it.
i'd say go for it paid mine around 180$

P.S. my car is getting a paint job right now, thats why there's no lights, no fenders, no bumpers on it

wasn't planning on getting this i just noticed it and i thought i'd bring it to you guys' attention and get what ya think about it. the CAI i bought from this guy celicavs was not one of these it had a normal cone filter, but it still did not fit. i had to use some piping from what was left over from my cousins' cai on his d series engine to make it fit on mine. the intake does seem a little cheesy tho.
