USA Toyota Corolla not starting ?

Hello
i have a 1998 Toyota Corolla LE. its the USA version that was made with GM, the problem is, past week the car wouldnt start on the first turn, it would just simply "click" now today me and my dad were about to go somewhere, we got in the car and tried starting it, it just kept clicking and never started at all, what could be the problem ? starter ?, gasket ?
it has 110,000 miles on it also
any help would be appreciated
thanks

Have your battery charged and tested. Autozone can do this. If the battery is good it may be a bad altenator.

USA re

the battery is like new, and alternator shouldnt be a problem
but ill go to autozone tomorrow and tryo take the corolla, if its not a battery problem, but idk man
this corolla also eats alot of oil, and dealership said that head gasket was leaking or something, but experienced friends told me if that were true, you would see oil everywhere.
thanks

yea you should be able to see oil on the block. . If you have a charger then charge your battery. I have bought cheap Wal-Mart batteries and had a bad cell in just a couple of weeks. Does your car burn or leak oil?

Check your battery connections, sounds like it's weak. If the head gasket is blown the oil could be entering the combustion chamber and burning off. I would change the headgasket, last thing you want is to starve the motor of oil, and coolant. Thats when it gets really expensive.

Tercel GTS knows what he is talking about

When my 92 Paseo started doing the "click", I replaced my starter. When I looking inside the old one, the contacts were worn down.

I had my mechanic do this fix, he said that this is just a problem with the contacts and they need to be replaced after that much wear

USA Where is my starter located?

I know this is nuts, but I want to change out my starter myself. I've never done it and I don't know where to start, but I think that i can handle it once someone tells me where specifically it is. BTW, lights can go on- inside and out, won't turn over- just clicks... this does mean I need to change it right?
