Australia Wanting to convert my 03 corolla to turbo awd

Hey, new here.

I recently bought an 03 corolla cheap off a mate. I've been thinking it would be interesting to make it turbo. Then i thought what about 4wd/awd. I've got different people telling me different things on how to go about it. Which is the best way to go about this. Conver the engine currently in it or do an engine swap. What would be the most cost effective compared too performace and life....
All ideas are good. ta

The most cost effective is to buy a true turbo/AWD car and is engineered from factory.
Import a Corolla AWD or ST205 and it will save you many headache, time and $$$.
I have seen quite number of FWD->AWD conversion, many of them end up for sale, owners want to get rid of, you should figure out why.

You could try what my brothers doing with his camry and putting a Celica GT4 engine in and the AWD setup...but you'll need to do suspension upgrades and such so it doesnt handle like crap.

What's with everyone wanting to put sr20s into Toyotas?
Don't get me wrong, I respect Nissan. The GTRs are gods.

But why go through the trouble of making a billion custom parts for a transplant when a swap will do the same thing for alot less effort.

bling and brag factors.

The same could be achieved by doing a 3SGTE swap which wouldn't be as expensive but still would require custom work.

hah

Its cool, i don't know much about cars and what engines are what....I only said the sr20 cause a friend had one in a nsx and it went hard.... So a 3SGTE is the way to go.... Should I go about looking for that motor or halfcut or just go to a company and say i want this and let them get the motor and stuff around?
Ta for thehelp so far

I found this on another forum.......

"Since I have a 3SGTE, which is not very common, can I use parts from different cars? I found some 2.0L NA Celica I'm thinking 3SFE, 5SFE, 4AFE at the salvage yard only. Can I use those parts or will I need to buy......"

So it could be a stuff around aswell?

The 3gste is stock in the All-Trak Celica, and the 91-95 Turbo MR2's. It is capable of (I think) 400hp on stock internals, and is one hell of a motor!

If you want power, turbo, and bling, that's the one to do!
