so how bad is it for a 4age motor to hit the rev limitor it happend to me once and im just trying to be carefull? as to what could have happend to the motor if anything.
The rev limiter is in place to protect your engine. There isn't going to be much more than wear and tear by hitting the rev limiter. However constant and often use of the rev limiter wears down your engine significantly more than someone shifting back down at 2500-4000RPM. It isn't that bad.
the cut is quick enough that it doenst get a chance to burn the fuel super lean (and evil at that)
he might be drifitng though and youll want to stay bouncing at the limiter to keep the power up

Oh and to continue, its not smart to even drift with the rev limiter bouncing, why you ask, well.. if you need to add some with the accelerator, you're already at the end. Makes it dangerous and unpredictable. Better use a gear with some allowance at the end.
yea i wouldnt know since i just started learning about the 4age's. since i bought a prizm gsi that has a 4age. the only time before that ive heard about this motor is from my brother in law cause he had a 86 mr2 with the bigport and it had full forged internals and high compression pistons the whole works and he said that the 4age is a really strong motor. hence the reason why i took him up on buying the prizm gsi. that and i love the way it drives. its a total sleeper.
