Came home and my AE86 was gone.

Well I came home to day and saw that my newer AE86 has been moved to the other side of the drive way, so I looked in the garage. My old AE86 was gone! I know where it is because I'm having the engine pulled. But you think my dad would give me a little notice.

What pisses me off was that I was in the middle of removing the windshield. To top that off some of my tools and some parts were still in the car! Oh well, I guess I'll have to go get them.

As for my other AE86 I think I'll get my body work booked seeing how rad hoses are on back order.

I haven't got it done yet. I'm having it done at Maaco. I'm having all the rust removed and repainted. I'm also having an OEM spoiler put on. My dad's friend owns a dealership so I'm gonna pay dealership prices. Every where else I would have to pay $3k-$4k. I'm paying $1.5k.

My parents took one of their cars to Maaco a few years ago and they did a really crappy job. Paint was peeling after like 2 weeks. Now we have a great body shop we go to when things go wrong.

..

I've never heard anything good about Maaco. Only thing I've heard that they are good for is a quicky paint job if you need to squeeze another year out of your car before the cops impound it, or if you are looking to sell it and want it shiny hoping to sucker someone into buying it.

if you wanna fix rust properly, expect to pay the price.

cheaping out is not the way to go when it comes to body work.

ghetto tuning, yes.

ghetto rust repair, NO.

Ok so no Maaco then. I guess tomorrow I'll be looking for some where local that has a good rep.

Where is this Centre Hill you speak of?

Cut and weld? Butt-welds or Lap-welds? How much? They a Toyota Nation "affiliate"?

basically any sort of body work you ask em to do, they most likely can and will do it

it's VERY pricey

not affliated to TN in anyway

guy, they have ONE lambo and ONE Ferrari from the 60s and 70s respectively sitting in there. Two spray booths.

the shop alone is prolly the size of a can-tire garage. it's HUGE.

i won't recommend places unless i know for certain they are cut and weld
