noise and mpg

HI there...

I changed the oil in my 93 corolla by myself 2 weeks ago... So i dint take it to Walmart for service ( though i hate.. I did that for 6mnts)..

It rained pretty bad here last month (katrina.. rita...).. I started hearing a mild squeaking noise from the front side(front wheels i belive) when I apply brakes...

What might be the prob.. is there any thing to do with lubrication (of any kind).. or what??

And also the gas mileage got decreased to 23 mpg from around 29 mpg !!

I poured fuel injector cleaner into the gas tank 2 months ago.. is this the prob for decreasing gas mileage...

Answer my both questions plz ( noise, mpg)

tks

i had the same brake noise, its could be two things theres dirt on the brake pads, you can take it to a shop so they cant like sand them down, and that would stop it but if that dont work it means you need new brake pads, they sanded mine off but it didnt work i needed new brake pads. and the mpg i have no idea whats going on with that sry i cant help with that

You should really check the air filter after every oil change. If you haven't done it already, you should. That can decrease gas mileage.
Depending on the mileage of your car, you may need to bring it in to a garage for routine maintenence. Not Wal-mart either. I've heard some stories of car's being started up without any oil in them, cracking engine blocks and such. Nasty business.

Considering it rained for a while, you might have had to adapt to it by turning on the AC when windows are up, driving in slower traffic because of the downpour and perhaps your tires aren't inflated well or aren't good in the water. Check belts for the squeal, if not then check brakes too. We had a '95 Corolla that was so bad in the rain the brakes would diminish its grip when wet.

Maybe, the decreased mileage has something to do with your brakes. After driving your car for a while, get out and feel the lugs. If they are hot, then the brakes are rubbing. Also, get your hand brake checked out. After the storm, maybe something got thrown off and the handbrake may be partially engaged. Other than that, I'm outta ideas.
