what's your 0-60? i think they could have made it more powerful, since it's the same engine as previous years but with 5 extra horsies from a throttlebody change and with the extra weight makes it pretty much the same as previous corollas. My sister bought one, never drove it but I was suprised with the engine noise when she tested drive it, now it's broken in, went down alittle bit I think for new corolla it's pretty loud, imagine when it gets older.

I have rented many rollas usually about 2-3 per month..I have noticed also that the new rollas are louder, especially when accelerating than the pervious body style.....Does any know the reason....Different intake? exhaust maybe, sound insulation? I was going to buy and 03 and was very disappointed in the noise levels

sound iso

my guess is that it's the sound isolation because you can hear my exaust system just as laud inside the car as outside...
yes this sucks but over all it's a great car.

...in the current "car of the year edition" of Motor Trend they ran an 16.12 in the Corolla S 5-speed (which was in the running for car of the year b/c it's an all new model).

MotorTrend tested a 16.1 on the Corrolla S which is pretty impressive.

Motortrend uses pros... right?

last time i read motortrend they were at a 16.3
but it has been a few months so I don't know if they have got down to a 16.1 like you said.

@ sea level I think I can probably pull a 15.4. One cause of the altitude not like palmdale. And two because I have learn a hole lot more about my car and they way to drive it, the air temp, the clutch.
