There is an add in the paper for Kragen where they have Silverstars for 24.99 with 10 off instantly and a 10 mail in rebate.....so 5 bucks for them......Should I go for it? From what I see it does not look very hard to replace them. The only issue is DLR's....how long will these bulbs last......I mean I guess I can always buy 2 pairs just in case.
You'll have a higher color temperature. But that's probably about it. Higher color temperature doesn't mean more light. Only that the light will be bluer. The increase brightness is just an illussion.
If you've use the lights a lot, then you might see a small improvement also because bulbs dim as they age.
But honestly, for $5, I would just buy them and keep them around as a spare set for when the ones in teh car burn out.

Ok...I read the ad wrong but its still a good deal
its 20 off a pair, and each one is 24.99.....so its gonna be 30 after rebates for both of them.......but I still think thats not too bad. Now to go get my haynes and figure this out....looks like I just use the adjustment bolts to move it foreward enough to access the bulb.....anyone have any tips
At that price I would go with the Sylvania Xtravision bulbs which are normally price at $20, and then save the $10. They're the same as Silverstars without the blue coat on the glass.
You should not have to move any screws to take the bulb out. Just reach down there and twist the bulb and it should pull out.
silverstars ! are one of the best things i have done to my cars and family cars as well... u will notice a diff at night they are alot whiter (not blue) i didnt notice to big of a differance in the Grand am since its a newer car but in the corolla it was like night and day i think i paid close to 50 bucks for the sealed beams and about 40 if not over for the grand am (i didnt care about the rebate at the time) takes forever to get rebates

Help, the headlamp enclosure will not come out like it says in the Haynes manual. I removed the 2 bolts but it will not budge, and I cant get my hand around and all to remove it.!!

For your Corolla, if you want better light output, try to find some Cibie replacements for your headlights. It'll convert your headlight so you can put H4s in them and they are much better than any sealed beam.
Well, I removed the fuse box and was able to access it....... Unfortunately I had to take out the battery to get to the drivers side one.....and then when I hooked it up have my mom kill the alarm.....heh but it is brighter now.....I just need to align them because I think they are a little too wide. Thats tomorrow's project.
