Mounting brackets will help. When we installed on my friends 00 we had to take out the original speaker (not very easy to do) When you take out the speaker you have to take out the metal piece as well. When we bought the speakers we bought the mounting brackets and spacers. The spacers are needed from some applications where the speaker is deep. If you don't use the mounting brakets on deep speakers the magnet will interfere with the windows when you roll them down. It is pretty easy after you get the stock ones off. Hope I've helped.

i'm gonna stick with the rockfords
mayas well considering i got those in the front and the infinities in the back.. it sounds good enough for me =D..
the problem with the infinities werne't the depth.
i got that corrected with spacers.. It's when i put the door panel back on, it would push against the cone, and the tweeter causing the speaker to not be able to vibrate, or whatever its called.
so basically, i'd just get a muffled sound.
the rockfords, although a deeper speaker, fit perfectly, because the tweeter nor the cone actually comes out further than the mounting ring.

We had the same problem too. What we did was cut away all that webbing stuff on the door where the holes are fro the speaker. It gave it the perfect amount of room
