Need help on Corolla speakers... urgent!

I'm installing a set of front speakrs on my 91 Corolla. The speakers are located in the dash. After removing the speakers, I cannot figure out which wire is positive and which is negative. One is pink and one is purple. When I use a test light, they both cause the light to come on. I"m very confused... Which is positive which is negative???

yeah, if there's a stripe on one, that should be the negative.

No im almost positive the wire hes talkin about don't have black stripes. But it doesnt matter because it depends on how you wired your deck. Easy way to figure it out would be to take your deck out and check the manual of the deck you bought and play match the wires.

Or U can just connect them and listen which one sounds best. If the '+' and '-' wire are not connected right it will cause a so-called 'phase-problem'; U should be able to hear the difference... Even if U didn't connect them the right way it won't do much harm to your speakers, so my suggestion is to just try it!

Same here. I think I'll go check this.

Could I use a multimeter to see which is + and -? I mean, can I measure the radio output as voltage? (so the multimeter will say -1.2v or whatever, and I can figure out what one is +)
