XRS / GTS 6spd ==> 7A eng

Well yet another good question will the C60 from the XRS / GTS fit onto a 7A or any "A" engine for that matter.

I know this was discussed in another thread but it was never really concluded if it would fit or not.

if no one knows im gonna toss my spare block plate in the trunk so if i ever have the oppourtunity, see if the holes line up

Swapping in just the 6 speed transmission in your Corolla is not a wise idea per se. The reason is that the 6 speed 2ZZ transmission is too specialized according to the requirements of the high revving nature of the 2ZZ engine. The very short 1st, 2nd gears are calibrated to make the car rev up to 8400 rpm as quickly as possible and the closeness of the gears to keep it in the powerband between shifts. You would be much better off looking at the 1ZZ Celica GT 5 speed transmission. From what I understand, the gear ratios are closer than the 1ZZ Corolla 5 speed transmission and the first and 2nd gear are shorter than the Corolla 5 speed as well. It will work much better for your low revving car by bringing the ratios close to keep it near peak torque during shifts at peak torque point i.e around 5500 - 5900 rpm.

According to this site, 1st on the C60 and the C52 is the same.. its 2nd to 6th that are different on the C60 as they're taller to accomodate the higher rev limit.
