...I have a new '06 S and was wondering what everyone thinks of using Slick 50 or Duralube or any of the other engine oil additives out there. I was told if using any of those products, use it after the second oil change or around 6000 miles. Thoughts anyone??
That stuff is shit. Search it on google and you will see all of those aditives are crap! Save your money and get amsoil synthetic or Mobile 1. If you want to flush your engine in the future try auto-rx.com I put it in 300 miles ago and my engine and tranny seem to run a bit smoother, tranny that is.
i dont think it would really hurt anything, i know a few people who have used slick 50 over the years and thier engines lasted but frequent oil changes is the key to an engine lasting not additives.

You have a new car, so you don't need it. When your car goes over 200,000 miles then prolong can do well. Do not use Slick 50, it's a waste of money. Use synthetic oil instead.
So overall, I would not use it.
However, you should use fuel system cleaner every 2 oil changes. The one I use is STP brand entire fuel system cleaner, NOT just fuel injector cleaner.
I Started using AP Restore after the 80,000 mile mark on my 95' Prizm. I don't know if it worked or not, but I always "felt" better knowing that I am restoring my engine compression.
Well 58,000 miles later and ka-boom, engine blows up. Oh well, guess it restored my engine a little to good and the #3 rod couldn't handle all that massive torque and high compression.

DON'T DO IT! Go over to BobistheoilGuy.com Forums and see what they say about these BS aftermarket additives ( S50, DURALUBE, PROLONG, etc) ...if they aren't outright wastes of money, they can SCREW UP your car!
Blue Corral, the manufacturers of the Slick 50 engine oil additive, have been banned by the Federal Trade Commission from making claims about reduced engine wear, increased fuel economy and lower running temperatures in it's advertising in America. The Federal Commission found the company's claims of increased performance and reduced wear were unsubstantiated, and Blue Corral has agreed to pay upwards of $20M in damages to affected customers.

DuraLube challenged by Car&Driver, loses to FTC.
The manufacturers of the DuraLube engine additive were dealt a smack in the face by a Car & Driver Magazine report into their product. C&D tried the same tests as Consumer Reports did on ProLong, and had similar results, but in a much quicker time. The C&D engines treated with DuraLube lasted a staggering 11 seconds without oil. You do the math. The Federal Trade Commission dealt with it.....

You do remember that motorup commercial where they took the oilpan off, keep the car runnign and spray water to the bottom end? Thats the whole key to the commercial, if they didnt spray water, the engine would seize, running at idle doesnt stress the engine that much and water acted as a lubricant.
All of these "magic" lotions are shit, and do not belong in the engine.
