USA Spark plugs

I notice on my 1999's valve cover there is a sticker stating to use dual ground post plugs. What plugs do all of you use? NGK? Anybody have a part number?

How about plug wires? Any decent after market ones out there or should I get OEM?

Thanks.

Dual ground electrode plugs only last longer, so if you use single ground electrode, expect to change them sooner. But then again, we're talking about thousands of kilometers still.

NGK or Denso are good, you will have to find part number, I actually use autolite and they have worked fine for the last 40k, 2 changes.

From owners manual:

NGK BKR5EKB-11

If you want platinum for its longer life benefits it would be BKR5EKPB-11 - but that's hard to find. You may also want to try Bosch Platinum 2 #4301, but Bosch plugs on Toyotas are a mixed experience.

Beware... as insignificant as it seems, putting single ground electrode plugs in a modern OBD-II equipped car that calls for twin ground can wind up making the ECU throw codes.... that was the case with our '96 4Runner and my brother's '00 Tacoma (both with the far less sophisticated 3.4 5VZ-FE).

Just purchased the owner's manual off eBay. That manual plus the Haynes manual state to use NGK #BKR5EKB11 dual ground electrode plugs only. That's what I'll go with. Thanks.
