4AGE questions - pickup

I am looking for some info, I want to put a 4age into my 1980 toyota picup (DOHC carburated). I ask in this forum because you guys deal with the 4age a lot. Does anyone know have any info on this swap? will it mate up with the 4wd 5sp.

Dan

hmmm

ok well, im no expert, and it sounds like a interesting idea, but it might not match up with the transmission, depending on what engine it is, it's not the 22-re motor is it?

wish i could help a bit more, but my knowlege is limited

Why would you want to put a 4AGE in a pickup truck???? there's no torque! And it probably wouldn't match up to the 4WD transmission without some work.

That 22r motor is great....why get rid of it??? I'd look to some performance parts for the 22r before i do a swap like that.

After grabbing the calculator and adding up everything I would need I might as well just buy a performance 22r and a supercharger

just put the v6 from the later hilux pick ups... like my fathers 89 rwd . Yeah like ren69 said, the 4ag is just a high strung motor with no torque, go with the V6 motors either the 3vzfe from the late 4runners + a trd supercharger= holy shit

would it match up with the tranny though is the question

they key thing from keeping me from swaping something from a later style of truck/ car is the fact I want to keep this truck carburated. no ecu and 100 miles of wires to worry about.
