If the car you have is originally a New York car and is a 1.6, it will have the California/Northeast states emissions package, which means the lambda sensor is right there, front and centre on the exhaust manifold with a single wire and is the flange type with two low-torque nuts on studs welded to the manifold. If it's a 1.8-litre model, the lambda sensor is further down on the exhaust downpipe, right between the radiator and engine block.
