yo i just bought an air intake (RAM) from ebay. It was the green cheap plastic kind but i dont think theyre much different from the aluminum. They just cost less. Mine cost around 20 bucks including S+H. Not a bad deal, just look around.

As far as I know, that is not the only intake pipe for your car. The 1993-97 Corollas (AE102) have the big pipe opening near the headlight, and then two smaller openings on either side of the bumper grille, technically making it a CAI.

Unless you want hot air, crappier performance in the summer, and a cool noise, I would stick with the stock airbox and filter.

Hello,
Has anyone heard of the Flow Master? I was told that it would increase gave mileage and horse power. When I do a search, all I get is exhaust. If anyone knows anything about it, please let me know more. I was told that I can get it at Kragen but I can't find it online.
Thanks.

Just to drop my $0.02 in here, I have a Ractive short-ram sitting right above the behind-headlight air pipe on my '96 1.8, it's gained me top-end response, and I got a dyno pull with it running as-is, then another pull with an improvised shield between the filter element and the rest of the engine bay and a fan blowing directly onto the element, simulating a 'true' CAI, or perhaps even a modest sort of ram-air hood.

The horsepower difference between short-ram in that position and the simulated CAI? The short-ram was about .2 or .5 horsepower behind. Make of that what you will.

Look in the top left and right corners of the bumper grille. They're really small (about 1" by 1") but I'm pretty sure they are intake pipes.

i don't think 93-97 corollas have space for CAI.
i've got a short ram for $38 bucks off of ebay becuz i couldn't find any branded CAI for my 94 1.6L. after i put it in, the car sounded like a crap, lost a lot of torque and the MPG dropped like niagara falls. i put the stock airbox back in and started to use K&N drop-in filter. it works a lot better than the ebay one.
