93-97 corolla short shifter install

there all completely different even between toyota models there are differences. this will work on 93-97 corollas

Im assuming all you have is the shift lever,
1. unscrew the shift knob.
2. remove the shift boot, pull up on one of the ends forget which.
3. Now you'll see where the shift lever goes into the plastic support thing, now remove the 4 10mm bolts that hold the plastic support thing to the steel frame underneth
4. remove the shift cables pay attention to how the clips work
5. remove shifter assembly
6. you'll notice the plastic support thing has 2 halves, there is a pin in front and behind that hold them together
7. remove the clips on the pins and remove them careful not to wreck anything this is a bit of a pain in the butt
8. pull out the old shifter lever
9. transfer little plastic bushing things off the bottom and side pivots onto the new lever
10. reassemble in reverse order using a plastic friendly grease to lubricate the plastic support thing.

------Pay close attention to where things go as this can be a finiky job-----
