Good luck finding fitting valvesprings, 4A-GE springs might fit, they are slightly shorter and wider

I adjust my kick down cable to make the car shift a little later, and it's been great for a couple months, but now I"m thinkin' I might even adjust it more. It doesn't hit the rev limiter when I floor it, so no worries there just yet, but...........

Does anybody else notice the 4AFE doesn't make like ANY power 'til you get up in the rpm's??

I mean, I'm guessing by sound on the RPM, but if it's over 4,000rpm, then I can get some punch out of it, but if it's 1,000rpm to about 3,000rpm, I feel like I can get out & RUN faster than this thing!

???

No matter how much you adjust the cables, it wont hit the rev limiter, automatics generally wont do it. If you'd want it to hit the rev limiter, you'd need to start altering the transmission specs. Personally I dont think adjusting the cables does that much regarding performance on automatics, plus you can only adjust them so much.

^^ I adjusted my wire and had my car hitting the rev limiter 4 times before It'd shift..needless to say I readjsuted the cable pretty quickly. It sounds bad ass revving right to where your rev limiter is about to kick in but I noticed that the 4afe falls out of its pwoerband then too, Better if you adjust the wire just barely. It'll feel faster if you put it to the limit because when it gets to the enxt gear it'll pull a bit harder, but that doesn't make up for all the power you lost going outside your powerband.

Very true, though I think it's about where you put your foot for the autos.

When I originally moved my kick-down cable, I wanted the car to shift sooner..........ONLY for where I usually keep my foot........(approx 1/3 of the way throttle open).

In this case, I was oroginally shifting at like 15mph & 30mph. FELT LIKE A DOOOOOG!!

Once I adjust the cable a couple turns, it went to shifting at about 22mph & 40mph.

I adjust it one more time & got it to shift at 25mph & 45mph regularly.

Now..........since then, I've learned where to have my foot if I want it to shift later. Only problem is that it's different in both shift points.

1st to 2nd...........it'll shift at 25mph anywhere from 1/3throttle up to 2/3throttle. You have to reeeeally open to 3/4 or full throttle to get it to hold 'til 30 or 35mph.

2nd to 3rd..........it'll shift anywhere between 40mph & 60mph depending on where I have my foot. This one is much more progressive so I have much more predictable control over the shift point.

What's funny is that after I get out of the '95 Prizm & drive my '98 Camry........I'm freakin' amazed at how intelligently the Camry shifts. Nothing short of the word "intelligent" describes how the Camry shifts. (like butta'!!!) But I still like my Prizm 'cuz it only cost $1,800!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!
