AE86 Headlamps

Was on ebay and saw these "HID" converstion kits;

Matrix Diamond Cut Sealed Beam Headlight Conversion Kit With A Pair Of HID Xenon Plasma H4 Bulbs

59.99$USD Buy now price.

Do these things look stupid in our 15 year old cars?

What bulbs do you use in your AE86? I just have the 10.00$ CT ones in mine and I want to get some better ones. [/img]

bulbs

Personal experience,

I will only go with Phillips, or Sylvania (sp?). They are not expensive, yet not so cheap. Most important, they last around 1.5-2 years!

lights are lights, i mean driving in the GTA, you can drive w/o em. they are not for illumination purposes in the city, i tell u that.

the Sylvania XtraVision sealed beams are worth the extra money over the regular sealed beams. Brighter and wider beam pattern. Sylvania does have the Cool Blue sealed also.

Warp

This is a semi-thread-warp.

How do you adjust the headlights? And how should you adjust it? I notice that currently my headlights "cross" out in the distance.

two adjusting screws on the headlight.

flip em up

you'll see a lil "notch" on the outer side as well as bottom.

tightening the screw on the side will cause the housing to point towards the outer side of the car, and tightening the bottom screw will cause the lights to point more downwards

vice versa f you wanna aim the other way.

Hi!

I'm not sure what kinda headlights / sealed beams the AE86 uses.
However can I assume that they use 6054 rectangular sealed beams?

If so, these are probably the ultimate lighting upgrade that you can do. I don't think they look stupid at all. These are real HID Arc Discharge headlights not some blue coated halogen bulbs.

http://orderxenarc.sylvania.com/orderxenarc/productenlarged.asp?ProductId=141939&CId=%7B50 410FB0%2D102C%2D42B3%2D90C8%2D5F5493934770%7D& NC=1118200219312

If you don't wanna shell out that much money..
Check out these H4 sealed beam replacements
http://lighting.mbz.org/products/

These are E-Code reflectors and the E-Code headlights produce better more usable beam patterns.

you could also get them from this guy
http://www.bergsmamotorwerks.com/store/item.php?item=Hella%20H4%20Square%20Headlights

that is if my assumption was correct.

Anyway regarding bulbs. I used to spend so much money on those blue bulbs, etc etc etc super bright super white... whatever.

I ended up sticking with Philips Vision Plus H4 bulbs (55/60W)

Good luck,
