Corolla Problem
I have a 1996 Toyota Corolla. For the past couple days the front drivers side wheel or part of the axel has been making a thumping, scratching noise. The sound it's making is like something is sticking out of the axel or wheel and hitting something on the car everytime the axel goes around (kind of like what it would sound like if you were spinning the wheel of fortune thing and it only had one peg sticking up).
This noise only occurs at certain speeds when I'm coasting (around 15, 30, 50 and 65). If I'm hitting the gas at these speeds I don't hear anything -- only when I'm coasting.
Any ideas what could be causing this?
