2004 Corolla LEMON?

My brother-in-law bought a used Corolla last year and in the last two weeks has had to replace the computer ($1200) and the transmission ($4500). It has 82,000km (Canadian) so its under warranty. Anyone else experience this? Usually a firm beliver in Toyota quality. Also is there a lemon law for Ontario? Any help appreciated.

Good thing its still under warranty. Though ive never seen a computer go bad on any toyota product. You never really know how the previous owner treated it. Its pretty easy to destroy a transmission if your just flat out abuse the car. Then again maybe it was just a rare defect.
