Preparing a drive from London

If everything runs smoothly.

I should be driving the car back from London.

The 86 is an 87'.

What should I bring and check to prepare the car for the long run?

1. 2 L's of engine oil, 10W30
2. Coolant (do i need to mix it with water?)
3. Tire pressure (Should it be 34 all around?)

Thanks!

BTW: The seller is by-law required to give me the seller's car history package, am I correct?

Thanks!

Arthur

Definitely have whoever's driving you in follow you all the way out. Don't push the car, it's a long drive. Keep your eye on the engine temp and the gas meters. Don't wait too long to fill up and if it starts heating up too much, turn up the heat in the car and draw out the heat from the engine. Water will be fine as a substitute for your short trip if you run low on coolant. Check all the levels before you leave so you're not caught by surprise. Make sure the seat belts work ... you don't want anything unlucky to happen. Washer fluid might be important in this kinda weather as well. Bring some tissues in case the windows fog up. Basically, be prepared for the worst.

And of course a cell phone. If your friend following you spots anything like smoke belching from the exhaust then he can notify you and you can go from there. Drive safe and enjoy.

water is the best "coolant" to use. It cools the engine the quickest and most efficiently. The reason you don't want to use it 24/7 is due to its freeze factor and the possible corrosion it would cause on a iron block if used over a long period of time.

you should be fine with oil....a quart would be good enough. if you have to go through 2 liters or even 1, thats probably an indication you shouldn't ahve bought the car in the first place.

other than that...have fun.

used car package

hmmm.. the seller of my new car did buy one but he wouldn't let me keep it.

He doesn't have to give it to you...

You will have to have an original when you transfer the car, I had to pay for my own. The license office said it had to be current to the day.

I should be driving 100km/h on the 401.

The only concern I have are the tires and the temperature.

Anyways, I should enjoy the day!

I just feel bad for telling my friends and their family to drag along with me .

Thank you all!
