Now....Front speakers in a '95.......

So, now that I've got some nice new rear 6.5's in, I wanna get somethin' better in the doors.

The doors only have little tiny 4" in 'em & since these are still the original paper, they're pretty pathetic.

Do I just go get some cheap replacement 4's & throw 'em in??? Is there the same hole matchup problem like on the rears I had?? (see my post about rears). Or are these more friendly???

I sure as heck wouldn't mind puttin' something bigger in the doors, but, but I don't know that I'd trust them flimsy door panels to hold anything, consider I'd have to modify 'em, for sure to get 5.25's or 6.5's in there.

??????

TIA

(I see this going downhill really quick.........$$$$$$$......i.e. next, new deck, amp(s), sub(s), 6x9' in the headliner.....LOL!!!!!!!!!)

oh man I put 2 new Kicker 4.5" in the front. And for 4.5s they sound good. Of course, anything should for 175$ CAD or about 140$ USD or about 798,562,398,654 Yen.

best advice is if you dont want to spend that amount on 2 small speakers then drop down to good 2 ways, rather then getting cheap 3 ways. But i would recommened you buy good speakers, they are the foundation of your system.

I got 4inch Power Acoustiks on one car and 4inch JL Audio's on the other car for fronts.. I'd say go with some decent sounding speakers instead of cheap ones.

Well, believe it or not, I was a bit of a stereo junky back in the day. I had a '63 VW Bug that won many a show trophy and many a stereo show trophy.

Nostalgia as it were...... http://img37.imageshack.us/img37/4257/img24306jj.jpg

In the case of this Prizm, we're talkin' about CHEAP!!!!!! I could EASILY get in way over my head, but remember, I've only got $1,800 invested in the car w/ maybe a couple hundred in maintenance that I've done since I got it. It would be VERY easy to spend another $2K in stereo equipment alone.

Right now, I've got $25 in a pair of cheap (but PPL instead of paper) 6.5's in the rear & if there's no *easy* fit for 5.25's or 6.5's, then I'll probably just throw a pair of these........... http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=3635432 in the doors & be done.

I'm still runnin' the good ole' Geo head unit. I might go at it later w/ a cheap $100 cd deck & if it has some preouts, might do a single powered 8" sub in the trunk but that'd be tops.

I'd loooong do something in my Camry before I'd do up the Prizm, but I even need to practice patience there. Quite often, it's not in the equipment.......it's in the setup!!!!!!!!
